Doha: Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center) provided a chance to new start-ups to display their ideas at Chocolate, Tea and Coffee (CTC) Festival which concluded yesterday at Al Bidda Park.

With the participation of more than 90 local and international stalls, trucks and carts offering variety of tea, coffee and chocolates; the Festival also had 11 stalls of Bedaya Center.

Bedaya Center stalls included all new cafés which include, Malibu, Qnad Qatar, Regal Market Café, Waves, Amare Café, Coffeeholic, Noora Café and L’eau De Café. This year the participation increased as compared to the last year. This year, Bedaya Center also displayed ‘Bedaya Dukan’ which showcased fifteen start-ups at one stall.

Talking to The Peninsula during CTC Festival, Mahmood Al Mahmood, entrepreneurship adviser at Bedaya Center said: “We are proud to see these start-ups having stalls independently which were under Bedaya Center last year.

This year, we have eleven new start-ups participating in CTC festival with additional ‘Bedaya Dukan’ stall which was not a part of the festival last year.”

This Dukan gave an opportunity to more than fifteen start-ups to display their items under one roof to engage audience and make new customers. “In this year’s edition, we have food truck from National Service Café and Regal Café which was recently launched 4 months ago,” Mahmood added.

Bedaya Center provides the entrepreneurs discounted prices for stall rent. He said: “We encourage them to participate in such festivals. By providing this opportunity to all new start-ups to indulge in such events, we give them confidence and they also get feedback from customers.”

Talking about new and old start-ups, he added, “We have ‘Waves’ this year with us, which was a home-based business and now they have participated with us on a platform like CTC Festival to showcase their products. Such platforms give them chance to grow and attract more customers.”
