Doha: Qatar Indian Islahi Centre has announced the yearlong celebrations of its 40th anniversary would conclude on March 26, 2021.

Over four decades, QIIC has accomplished social engagements, community services, especially in socio-cultural and humanitarian arenas. The organization was founded as the first expatriate unit of Kerala Nadvathul Mujahideen (KNM), Kerala’s Muslim renaissance movement. It was materialized during the Qatar visit of late KNM leader Sir A. P. Abdul Qader Moulavi, a renowned Islamic scholar.

Original members Akbar Qasim, Fyzal Karattiyattil, and TP Kunjammed, are still inspiring QIIC members and volunteers over the last 40 years. Their efforts have flourished the greatness of this organisation.

As part of the 40th-anniversary conclusion, QIIC President Hussain Mohammed U declared the donations of 40 houses to 40 homeless families, 40 drinking water/public water facilities; and sponsor 40 underprivileged students undertaken for education.

The centre kicked off the yearlong celebrations with social works in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic. The trimester campaign, “Post Covid Expatriation, Comforts and Prospects,” was timely, and all mechanisms of QIIC engaged in activities locally and in India with the partnership of ISM Kerala. Food kits distributions, job, and shelter, medical aids, counseling, financial consulting events were organized. Houses were also built in Kerala through the ISM Golden Home scheme.
