Cultural Forum members during the blood donation drive.
Doha: Cultural Forum, a socio-cultural organisation of Indian expatriates in Qatar, conducted a mega blood donation drive last Friday, with the slogan “Give Blood For Life” to meet the high demand of blood at HMC Blood Donor Center.
Out of 200 registered donors, 130 donors from different corners of the society donated blood during the campaign, organised as part of Indian Republic Day celebration and in solidarity with Indian Azaadki Amruthu maholtsav.
It was held at KIMS Health Center at Barwa city.
Doctors at KIMS also provided free health check-up which helped low income donors. KIMS Managing Director Nishath, ICBF President Ziyad Usman, Vice-President Vinod Nair, Rahoof Kondotty, Cultural Forum President Muneesh A C, Advisory Board Vice-Chairman Shashidhara Panicker, General Secretary Majeedali, State Secretary K T Mubarak and Malappuram district President Rasheed Ali gave brief felicitations.
Head of Cultural Forum Community Service wing and its Vice-President Muhamed Kunhi T K presided over the function.
“Cultural Forum is planning to conduct more blood donation drives in future at various locations in solidarity with Qatar and HMC for their fight against the COVID-19 pandemic”, Muhamed Kunnhi said.
General Secretary Thaseen Ameen gave a welcome speech and Vice-President Sajna Zaky delivered a vote of thanks.
Cultural Forum Vice-Presidents Shanaws Khalid and Chandra Mohan presented mementos to HMC Blood Center and KIMS.
Forum state secretary Sidheeq Vengara, working committee member Radha Krishnan, Community Service wing secretary Najla Samad, Wing members Sakeena Abdulla, Zainudheen Nadhapuram and Fathima Thasneem led the blood donation campaign.
