Doha, Qatar: Qatar University (QU) organised its annual Alumni Reunion 2026, attended by a number of distinguished guests, senior officials from within and outside the university, faculty members, administrative staff, and a wide audience of QU alumni from various graduating cohorts.

During the event, the Distinguished Alumni Segment featured alumna Sabah Al-Haidous, recognising her professional achievements and contributions. The programme included several key segments, most notably the screening of a documentary film titled ‘And Say: My Lord, Increase Me in Knowledge,’ in addition to honouring participating colleges and affiliated units.

As part of the reunion, QU inaugurated the Alumni Village for the first time.

The initiative brought together a number of commercial ventures founded by QU alumni, providing them with an opportunity to showcase their products and services to visitors.

This initiative reflects the university’s commitment to supporting entrepreneurship and fostering national talent.

In his remarks on the occasion,

H E Sheikh Dr. Faleh bin Nasser Al Thani, Chairman of the Alumni Association, stated, “This gathering has become a distinctive annual tradition that renews each year, strengthening communication and bonds between alumni and the University. It provides an opportunity to exchange expertise and ideas, revisit precious memories within the University’s halls and spaces that preserve a shared history and many aspirations, and serves as a forum that reunites one family and reflects the values of brotherhood.”

He added, “The QU Alumni Association represents a unifying bridge that connects the University with its graduates; its past with its present; memories with the realities of professional life; academic knowledge with diverse labour markets; preparation with achievement; and ambition with its realisation. Accordingly, we emphasise the Association’s vital role and the importance of joint efforts among its members and chapters.”

Therefore, maintaining continued engagement with the University reflects loyalty and preserves this close relationship, while reinforcing cherished values.

Buthaina Ibrahim Lanaqwi, Manager of the Alumni Relations Office, emphasised that the Alumni Relations Office at QU has become a fundamental pillar in supporting the University’s vision and mission, driven by the firm belief that alumni are active partners in the present and a central element in shaping the future.

She noted that the office is committed to strengthening this partnership through specialised initiatives, professional programmes, and development pathways.
