Doha: Vodafone is adding 65 new number ranges to its ‘Satellite’ charging zone for international calls. From March 29, these number ranges will be charged at QR28 per minute instead of the previous rack rate price per minute, a press release said yesterday.

From the same day, Vodafone will also block 80 international number ranges so customers will no longer be able to dial them from their Vodafone number.

This measure is being taken to protect Vodafone’s customers as these number ranges are currently being used fraudulently using a variety of spam schemes, the release said.

Customers can view these blocked number ranges at www.vodafone.qa/international-change.

Additionally, due to an increase in terminating costs, 36 international destinations will have new prices per minute for calls made to them from March 29. These price increases include Cuba QR3.50/min, Mauritania QR1.50/min, Senegal QR1.50/min, Somalia QR1.50/min.

Customers can view the other 33 countries on at www.vodafone.qa/international-change All of the above changes apply for prepaid, postpaid and Enterprise customers.
