DOHA: Qatar National Library (QNL) has scheduled events, including a book discussion and free training sessions on online databases for all residents through its website.
Several training sessions will be organised to help residents familiarise themselves with ‘SpringerLink’ and ‘CREDO Reference’ databases.
‘SpringerLink’ is an eBook and journal database specialising in science, technology and medicine.
It has titles in many subjects. Training in Arabic and English in collaboration with Springer Publishing Company will be held tomorrow.
‘CREDO Reference’ offers a collection of reference resources such as encyclopaedias, dictionaries, thesauruses, biographies, and more.
Training will be held on March 17.
QNL is also organising the monthly book discussion. It will look at ‘The Book Thief’, a worldwide bestseller by Australian author Markus Zusak.
Although written for young adults, the novel appeals to all ages and was recently released as a feature film.
Discussion will be held on March 12 between 7pm and 9pm at the Clubhouse in Qatar Foundation’s Education City.
