Muscat: The GCC Statistical Centre was officially inaugurated in a ceremony at the Al Bustan Palace Hotel in Oman yesterday under the auspices of Yousef bin Alawi bin Abdullah, Oman’s Minister Responsible for Foreign Affairs, in the presence of senior officials, members of the diplomatic corps and representatives of GCC statistical institutions.
The centre is the only official statistical reference for comparable and updated information and statistics in relation to the GCC and the official information bank for the GCC states.
Nasser Al Mahdi, Director of Censuses, Household Surveys and Statistical Methods at the Ministry of Development Planning and Statistics represented Qatar at the opening ceremony.
Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, GCC Secretary-General, also attended the opening. QNA
