Doha: The General Directorate of Civil Defence carried out a mock evacuation operation at Woqod company’s tower in West Bay.
The mock evacuation began with the sounding of the alarm bell and an announcement that fire had broken out in one of the floors. The fire was immediately reported to the Civil Defence Directorate and security and safety officers evacuated employees through emergency exits to safe assembly points.
Meanwhile, a civil defence force moved from the civil defence centre at Wadi Al Sail accompanied by a fire engine with a 32-metre-high ladder and a rapid intervention vehicle.
The mock fire was then dealt with to prevent its spread to the rest of the building while search operations for the missing and injured resulted in the rescue of three wounded persons, who were evacuated to an ambulance that took part in the mock evacuation. Al Fazaa police force was also involved in the operation.
