ICC conducts Annual Karate Tournament

The Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) conducted 4th Annual Karate Tournament at ICC Ashoka Hall on April 7.

ICC President, Milan Arun, gave the welcome address for the day by greeting students, instructors, referees and parents and Head of Sports in charge, Jaffar Khan of  ICC, conducted the proceedings. 

Chief Guest, Rajesh Kamble, Coordinating Officer of ICC, from Indian Embassy inaugurated the tournament. In his message, he lauded the efforts of ICC in conducting the Karate Tournament and especially appreciated the Karate students and their parents for their wholehearted participation of this kind of programme. 

He also applauded the efforts of students and parents for finding time out to learn the various modules of Karate.

During the function, Chief Guest, Sponsors, ICC MC Members, Karate Instructors and Judges were felicitated by the Tournament Organizing Committee. 

Tournament started with Demonstration of Kathas and Kumithe formsof  Karate by two students and subsequently it continued with competition  in various categories. 

A total of 104 students of the Indian Cultural Centre trained by Karate Instructors NM Ashraf and CK Abdul Jaleel, participated in the competition which enthralled the audience. The programme was attended by more than 200 people. The tournament Judges were Prajesh Anand, Vigil Poyyara, Manuprabha, Abdul Latheef, Mahindra, KrithiSreshta, Shalima Anwar, NimitaShanavas, Rishi Dhansigh. 

The programme was coordinated by the head of in-house activities, Anjan Kumar Ganguli;   Manikantan, Vice-President of ICC; Managing Committee Members K S Prasad, Dr.Nayna Wagh, Raja Vijayan, Niyaz Ahmed. Vishal Mehta. The tournament was supported by Al Madha Group. Shakeed K Abbas CEO of Al Madha Group and Musthafa M were also present during the inaugural function.
