Washington, USA: US President Donald Trump said that Iran should not impose fees on oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and called on it to stop immediately if it is doing so.

In a post on his Truth Social platform today, Trump cited reports of Iran imposing fees on oil tankers passing through the Strait of Hormuz, adding that Iran should not do so and, if it was doing so, it must stop immediately.

In a subsequent post, Trump noted that navigation in the strait had come to a halt, highlighting that Iran was behaving improperly and even harming others by allowing oil to pass through the Strait of Hormuz, adding that this was not the agreement they reached.

Shipping tracking data had shown that no vessels crossed the strait early Thursday morning, following an earlier report that navigation had begun to resume after the ceasefire took effect.

Meanwhile, US Vice President JD Vance reaffirmed that if Iran does not adhere to its commitments to reopen the strait, the ceasefire would come to an end.
