Doha: Minister of Labour H E Dr. Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri held meetings with a number of visiting dignitaries and officials on the sidelines of the International Conference on Occupational Heat Stress yesterday.
They included Manuela Tomei, Assistant Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO); H E Khalifa Khamis Mattar Al Kaabi, Representative of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the UAE and member of the ILO Governing Body for West Asian countries; Bilal Malkawi, Regional Secretary, International Transport Workers Federation and Amer Al Hajri, Director of the Executive Office of the Labour Ministers of GCC.
During the meetings, they reviewed aspects of joint cooperation, and ways to support and develop them during the coming period, especially updating legislation related to occupational heat stress and the need to adopt an integrated approach to prevent the effects of heat stress worldwide.
