Doha, Qatar: The Protection and Social Rehabilitation Center, Aman, one of the centres operating under Qatar Foundation Social Work, welcomed a delegation of 45 child ambassadors from the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Ambassadors Centre during an awareness visit aimed at introducing young participants to the centre’s role in social protection and family support services.

The initiative reflects Aman Center’s commitment to strengthening community partnerships and spreading a culture of protection and safety awareness among different segments of society, particularly children. During the visit, the young ambassadors attended an introductory presentation about the centre and toured several of its departments, including the reception section, hotlines and support services unit, and Aman’s rehabilitation councils.

The children learned about Aman’s electronic application and a number of its awareness initiatives, including the “My Book, My Friend” campaign and the “Journey to Safety” educational game.

Speaking on the occasion, Fadhl Al Kaabi, Acting Executive Director of Aman Center, stressed the importance of investing in the awareness of younger generations and introducing them to the role of social protection institutions in society.

He said that hosting the SDG ambassadors represents an important step toward building a generation that is aware of its rights and capable of contributing to the promotion of a culture of protection within the community.

Al Kaabi also emphasised the center’s commitment to delivering awareness messages through simplified and interactive methods tailored for children, helping instill concepts of safety and security from an early age while strengthening their ability to face future challenges. He added that Aman Center seeks to support and adopt awareness initiatives and projects presented by the young ambassadors, describing children as “the makers of the future.”

Iman Al Obeidi, Executive Director of the SDGs Ambassadors Center, praised the visit and described it as a valuable initiative that reflects a commitment to building effective partnerships and exchanging expertise. She noted that the meeting marks a strategic step toward supporting and empowering young people while opening wider prospects for future cooperation in development and awareness fields.

Hanan Al Ali, Director of the Communication and Media Office at Aman Center, said the visit demonstrates the importance of direct engagement with children. She explained that hosting child SDG ambassadors forms part of the center’s broader efforts to enhance public awareness of its mission and deliver awareness messages through innovative approaches suited to different age groups.
