MoPH, HBKU launch national survey on developmental disabilities

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), in collaboration with Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), has launched the assessment phase of the National Survey on Developmental Disabilities Diagnostics and Interventions in the State of Qatar, during an event attended by representatives from major healthcare institutions, hospitals, and centers involved in providing diagnostic and intervention services for individuals with developmental disabilities across the country. 

The national survey is scheduled to be conducted over a one-year period and will cover approximately 70 healthcare facilities across the State of Qatar, including hospitals, health centers, clinics, and specialised treatment centers. 

During the event,  Advisor of the minister of public health and national lead for autism action plan, Dr. Salma Khalaf Al-Kaabi delivered a speech highlighting the importance of this national project in supporting the State of Qatar’s efforts to develop and strengthen developmental disability services in line with international best practices. 

She also emphasised the importance of strengthening collaboration and coordination among all relevant stakeholders and called on healthcare providers and related institutions to actively participate in the survey to ensure the collection of accurate and comprehensive data that reflects the current status of services provided to individuals with developmental disabilities.
