BAGHDAD: Nineveh operations chief, Lieutenant-General Basim al-Tai on Wednesday survived an assassination attempt south of Mosul, North Iraq.
A security source told a National Iraqi News Agency (NINA ) reporter that "al-Tai escaped an assassination attempt by an improvised explosive device, targeted his convoy on the Baghdad Road south of Mosul, while inspecting military units in Qayyarah and Hadher areas".
The source added: "The incident did not result in casualties." (QNA)
