Emir holds phone talks with Ban

Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday held telephone  talks with United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon. They discussed violations Palestinian people have been subjected to in light of Israel’s military offensives against civilians. 
The Emir called on the international community to stop the aggression against the Palestinian people and the siege on Gaza Strip.
QR1.9m worth aid for Gaza Strip
Doha: Sheikh Eid Bin Mohammad Al Thani Charitable Association will send urgent humanitarian aid worth about QR1.9m to Gaza Strip. It is expected to reach there on Friday, for the benefit of 5,000 families affected by ongoing Israeli aggression, the association said in a statement.
 The association has received calls from people of Gaza, especially medical agencies, as field hospitals are experiencing a severe shortage of medicines, the statement added.

Violators to be named in dailies

DOHA: The Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs says it will soon begin naming and shaming in local newspapers manpower agencies found violating the law that regulates them. 
The ministry has said it will soon launch an inspection drive targeting all manpower agencies to check their compliance with rules, local Arabic daily Al Watan reported yesterday. 
The daily said the ministry had sent a circular to recruitment agencies informing them about the decision.
