Give up temptations and soak in Ramadan spirit

Time passes by so quickly to bring the holy fasting month of Ramadan, making us long for the experience of this great month, which brings many blessings and good things. Our failure to abide by the rules of our great religion has been evident over the months. We have been preoccupied with life and its passing joys.
Here comes Ramadan to purify us and take the guilt away with God’s blessings. This is why each of us has to work hard to pave the way for the message of mercy of the fasting month. We should shun everything that keeps us away from achieving the goals of this month.
This makes it necessary for us to stand by the holy month against those who want to keep people away from the mercy of God. By this, I mean those who want to keep people busy with material pleasure by spreading immoral things, parties, movies and TV serials. The media is helping such people by publicising awards and offering people the chance to break their fast in luxury hotels and under the ceilings of the tents of immorality, which are inappropriately called “Ramadan Tents”. Inside the tents, music plays and at times dance is performed. These practices have become very common during the fasting month. Some people may say there is nothing new in this article.
To them I would say that we need to do something in order to prevent such digressions in this great month and make sure that a group of people who decided to go against the spirit of the month does not repeat their wrongdoings.
This is why each of us has to commit himself to good conduct during the month and then try to commit others who fall inside his/her own immediate territory of control: our families, children and servants. We must also use media channels to form a front against those who use the media to spread immorality and violate virtue on satellite channels, which must be thrown out of our homes. Let us make Ramadan the beginning of all this.
We have a rare chance to fully exploit the holy month to reach full piety and achieve the goals of the month. I pray that God help us observe the fast and piety during this great month.
A question to citizens: Has Allah given us this month so that we can turn its second half into an occasion for dancing and singing and also drawing our children into it?
