Doha: Following an extensive presentation on the hotel’s key indicators on energy usage, water consumption,  waste output management as well as employee training and implementation of customer satisfaction measures, Mövenpick Hotel Doha achieved outstanding results and earned certification by Green Globe for the third year running.
The hotel is working to gain greater efficiencies while providing a comfortable environment and facilities for guests.
Green Globe is the worldwide sustainability system based on internationally-accepted criteria for sustainable operation and management of travel and tourism businesses.
The areas in which the hotel has earned the certification include significant savings in energy and water consumption compared to last year, streamlined development plans for employees and the quality of service which leads to optimal customer satisfaction.
Internal communication projects and environmentally conscious communications also played a role in creating this sustainable business.
The hotel also backs initiatives such as Earth Hour and No Paper Day, among others.
The strategy is part of a company-wide programme to establish a common and global approach to environmental, employer and social sustainability.
Fabien Chesnais, General Manager,  Mövenpick Hotel Doha, said “We constantly strive to run our business responsibly.
“We are proud to carry the certification for another year as proof of our environmental consciousness. Our hotel is committing today, to do the right thing for tomorrow.”
Following re-certification, the hotel put comprehensive plans which will continue to support its commitment to sustainable tourism and environmentally, economically and socially responsible business practices.
