Qatari national basketball team to face India Friday in Doha in preparation for Asian Championship

Doha: The Qatar Basketball Federation has announced that a friendly match will be held between the Qatari national team and Indian counterpart tomorrow, Friday, at the Federation Hall at Al Gharafa Club.

The Basketball Federation said in a statement that the match is part of the Qatari national team's preparations for the 2025 FIBA ​​Asia Cup Finals, scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, from August 5 to 17, with the participation of 16 teams.

The Federation added that the second phase of the Qatari national basketball team's preparatory program is continuing as planned, and that the upcoming friendly matches aim to raise the players' physical and technical readiness and develop their capabilities by playing against teams with diverse technical styles.

This will be achieved through a friendly tournament that will be held from July 28 to August 1, which will include, in addition to the Qatari national team, the teams of Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and Japan at the Lusail International Arena.

The Qatar Basketball Association called on Qatari basketball fans to follow the national team at this stage, support and motivate the players, and build a harmonious relationship between the players and the fans in order to achieve success and reach the 2027 World Cup in Doha with the best technical level.
