Wanted individual extradited to competent authorities in US: MoI

Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) announced in a statement that, within the framework of a joint security operation between the Ministry of Interior, the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), and the U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), and through the channels of the International Criminal Police Organization (INTERPOL), one of the wanted individuals of Asian nationality was extradited to the competent authorities in the United States of America.

The individual faces several serious criminal charges related to transnational organized crime.

MoI said that the wanted individual was referred to the Public Prosecution to complete the necessary legal procedures, which issued a decision authorizing the surrender of the individual to the competent U.S. authorities in accordance with applicable procedures.

The Ministry emphasized that this operation comes within the framework of international security cooperation and coordination with friendly countries and that it solidified the position of the State of Qatar as a trusted international partner in confronting transnational organized crime, thereby enhancing the security of communities and supporting the international justice system, in accordance with national legislation and applicable legal treaties and mechanisms.
