DOHA: A total of 123 new students joined the University of Calgary-Qatar (UCQ) last week and were welcomed to the campus in a special ceremony.
The total number of student nurses at UCQ is now more than 400.
UCQ’s new Director of Student Services, Justin Williams said, “We started in 2007 with seven students, and in the fall of 2012 there were 291. Today there are more than 400 of you.”
Hissa Al Aali, Associate Director, College of Nursing Project, welcomed new and returning students with a commitment from UCQ faculty and staff.
“We are here to support you in any and every way we can. Instructors at UCQ will spare no effort to get you to a place where you will be looked up to as beacons of quality education in Qatar. You are going to be an integral part of the healthcare system and Qatar Vision 2030.”
UCQ nursing programs combine the academic excellence of the Faculty of Nursing at the University of Calgary in Canada with the unique needs of Qatar.
