Awards panel discusses nominations

DOHA: The 2013 judging panel of the ITP Arab Woman Awards Qatar yesterday held a discussion as a pre-event on this year’s Arab Woman Awards Qatar nominations. The meeting was held at W Doha Hotel and Residences.

The Arab Woman Awards recognise and reward inspirational Arab women who have made a positive impact on society in areas including business, the arts, charity and fashion and this will be the second consecutive year ITP consumer has taken this prestigious award Qatar.

ITP follows a set of strict criteria to ensure that winners of this award are nominated objectively, based on their accomplishments over the last 12 months and their contribution to Qatar.

The judging panel is made up of six inspirational women drawn from the worlds of commerce, medicine, the arts and journalism, including Bothaina Al Ansari, Senior Director, Human Resources at ooredoo who said: “The Arab Women Awards are vital in inspiring younger generations of Arab women to strive for success in their chosen field.”

Other 2013 judges include Dr Nawal Sheikh, Director Communications for The Securities and Exchange Commission and Mashael M. Al Ansari, Marketing and Communication Director for The Anti-Doping Laboratory Qatar as well as Amal Al Aathem, one of Qatar’s leading artists. Al Aathem expressed her delight about being part of the carefully chosen judging panel saying: “It is fantastic to be involved in the Arab Woman Awards Qatar and to help ensure that these inspirational women get the recognition they deserve.”
