Doha: The Organisation of Islamic Dawa’s office yesterday announced that it will provide QR18m this year for the project of sacrificial animals, which will be implemented in 50 African, Arab and Islamic countries, with a focus on refugees and displaced persons from Syria, Palestine, Central Africa, Somalia and other countries.
Sheikh Hammad Abdul Qadir, Director, Dawa’s office, said the organisation has been distributing sacrificial animals to poor Muslims for more than 25 years.
He stressed the need to support poor people, saying this year the organisation seeks to double the number of animals it had distributed last year to 40 African countries, Yemen and Palestine, Syrian refugees and displaced persons at a cost of QR9m. It also distributed in Qatar 635 animals to needy families, benefiting 3,500 people.
