Washington: A strong earthquake measuring 6.0 magnitude struck the jungle region of northern Peru on Saturday, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
The epicenter was located 50 kilometers (31 miles) north of the city of Moyobamba and struck at 1008 GMT, the monitor said. There were no immediate reports of any damage or casualties.
