ISLAMABAD: Autopsy reports of more than 100 cases sent for chemical examination are missing at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA), Lahore.
Police say they had sent the reports to PFSA during the last 20 months, however, the agency officials have, in writing, responded that the reports are not with the agency.
The situation is supporting the criminals and adding to the miseries of the victim families who are pressing the police to conclude the investigation.
However, the police are unable to decide the cases in the absence of the opinion of forensic experts.
The issue of the missing reports came to the fore when Khurram Sohail Raja, head of the Department of Forensic Medicine & Toxicology, Punjab Medical College, Faisalabad, sent a letter to the chief of the forensic science agency, asking it to clear the pending reports. internews
