DOHA: The second Ajyal Youth Film Festival organised by Doha Film Institute (DFI) has received overwhelming support from government, multinational and regional entities, media houses and educational organisations.
Fatma Al Remaihi, Acting CEO, DFI, and Festival Director, said: “We are delighted by the response from the business community and other stakeholders to the second edition of the festival.
“This show of solidarity by Doha-based, regional and international entities highlights the value the festival offers in bringing the community together to add to Qatar’s reputation as a cultural hub.
“Co-operation of various entities is a testament to the spirit of public private partnerships fostered by Qatar in organising world-class events.
“Several of our partners are returning sponsors, highlighting the value our partnerships have delivered in achieving their marketing and community outreach goals.
“Their support adds to the prestige of the festival and we are thankful for it,” she added.
Katara Cultural Village continues as cultural partner, while Occidental Petroleum has renewed support as principal partner.

To be held on December 1-6 at Katara, the festival consists of daily public screenings of local and international films; family days; special events and exhibitions; the Sandbox interactive digital playground; school screenings; and the Doha Film Experience – Ajyal’s youth jury, where hundreds of people aged 8-21 will watch and discuss short and feature films and decide on the winning entries.
