Doha: The Emir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday sent a cable of congratulations to King Norodom Sihamoni of Cambodia on his country’s Independence Day.
The Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani sent a similar cable.
Doha: A regional meeting on the Convention on the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons starts today at St. Regis Hotel in Doha.
It is organised by Doha Regional Centre for Training on Conventions on Weapons of Mass Destruction of the National Committee for the Prohibition of Weapons (NCPW).
It will be attended by representatives from the chemical industry sector and states parties to the convention will discuss ways to contribute to the implementation of the convention’s provisions, especially with regard to chemical safety, verification and awareness.
The meeting also aims to consolidate links between national entities and the chemical industry sector to raise awareness and increase the exchange of experiences.
Qatar established NCPW at the Ministry of Defence and launched the centre in December 2012.
