DOHA: There is no enmity between Qatar and Egypt so the question of rapprochement does not arise, said Qatar’s Foreign Minister.
Qatar stood with the people of Egypt since the revolution of January 25, said H E Dr Khalid  bin Mohamed Al Attiyah, replying to a question at a press conference at the end of the 35th GCC Summit yesterday.
Responding to another question about the GCC’s plans to have a common military and whether that meant that the GCC wanted to become a force like Nato, Dr Al Attiyah said: “We hope to become like Nato. That is what we hope, to have military power like Nato,” he added.
The GCC leaders in their 35th summit agreed to establish a unified maritime force and expressed satisfaction over what has been achieved until now regarding the establishment of common military commanders to achieve joint defence.
