Doha: A hat-trick from Jorge Sebastian Saez helped Al Wakra register a resounding 6-1 win over Al Gharafa in the Qatar Stars League match.
Yesterday at the Gharafa Stadium the winners seemed to be a great hurry right from the kick off and Al Gharafa could not stop them from scoring.
Saez netted his first of the three goals in the very first minute of the match and added the second one in the 13th minute and went on to complete his hat-trick in the 41st minute.
The other goal scorers for Al Wakra were Johar Abdul Kaabi (4th minute), Adel Ahmad Mohmad (27th) and Ahmad Ali Khil (85th).
In between, Al Gharafa tried to make a fight back with Nicolas Fedor pulling one back in the 22nd minute, otherwise it was a one way traffic of Al Wakra strikers on rampage.
With yesterday’s positive result Al Wakra now have 11 points from 13 and are placed ahead of two bottom placed teams Al Shahaniya and Shamal.
Al Gharafa remained on 23 points from 13 matches
In the other surprising result of round 13 yesterday, bottom sitters Al Shahaniya collected their second win when they defeated Al Ahli 1-0.
Pascua Ulises Jesus netted the match winner for Al Shahaniya in the first minute of the second half. Al Shahaniya now have a tally of nine points. Meanwhile, defending champions Lekhwiya edged Al Sailiya 2-1 to retain the second position in the standings, with 30 points.
After a goalless first half, Lekhwiya went into the lead in the 51st minute with Andres Sebastian
