Merriment, fun and laughter marked the 13th Annual Day Celebrations ‘COSMICA’ of Doha Modern Indian School (DMIS).
The festivities began with the prayer followed by the welcome song and welcome dance which gave the ambiance festivity vibes. Introductory welcome speech by the principal wherein the annual report was also presented made the parents of DMIS students proud.
First set of prize distribution ceremony was followed by an inspiring speech by the Chief Guest Dr R Seetharaman with the message to value the values, respect teachers and parents and strive for the best.
The performance of grade 3-5 students had left the audience in awe with their adorable instrumental choreography on drums, flute, violin, koto, piano, trumpet and sitar and finally sweeping through the climax with the fusion of all these instruments. After the second set of prize distribution ceremony, students of grades 6-11 startled the audience with their outstanding skit as they expressed themselves through exceptional theatrical skills. Lullaby dance mesmerized the audience with the aura of motherhood.
A mash-up of Hindi dance which was entitled ‘school dance’ conveyed conviviality, followed by love dance that had the audience in cheer and whistles. Mime and old age song by choir created an atmosphere of serenity and tranquillity thus paved the way for the final event of the program. ‘Glory to Qatar’ - the final event was an amalgamation and blending of Arabic, Punjabi and Bollywood songs through formation dances.
The program concluded for the day one with the National Anthems of Qatar and India.
