Doha, Qatar: The Annual Sports Day of Ideal Indian School concluded recently with great fanfare, highlighted by a spectacular display featuring 1,200 students.

The two-day celebration marked the 41st Annual Sports Day of the Morning Session and the 2nd Annual Sports Day of the Evening Session. Earlier, nearly 3,000 students enthusiastically participated in the preliminary heats of various track and field events across the sub-junior, junior, senior, and super senior categories in both sessions.

On the first day, the occasion was graced by Dr. Hassan Kunhi MP, President of Ideal Indian School, as the Chief Guest. The event was further honoured by the presence of Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb and Mr. Abdirahman Saeed Hassan, a distinguished alumnus of the school and Qatar National Middle Distance Runner who represented Qatar at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, as the Guest of Honour. The dignitaries also included Fajar Al Athiya, Sports Event Coordinator, Qatar Olympic Committee, and Mr. Ali Khalid Al Kubaisi, Member of the IIS HR Committee.

Opening the sports meet President Hassan Kunhi MP underscored the school’s strong dedication to fostering a vibrant sports culture. He reaffirmed that the institution remains committed to encouraging students to participate in diverse sporting activities as an integral part of holistic education.

On the second day, the Evening Session of the Sports Meet was graced by the presence of the Chief Guest, Hussein Yasser—an eminent Qatar National Football Team player, AFC Asian Cup 2011 representative, and former Manchester City footballer—along with Ali Khalid Al Kubaisi, Member of the IIS HR Committee, who attended as the Guest of Honour.
