BERLIN--About 18,000 people joined a vigil in central Berlin mourning victims of the Islamist attacks in Paris, a police told AFP.
The crowd gathered at 1400 GMT in front of the French embassy opposite the Brandenburg Gate landmark in a rally organised on social media.
Many placed flowers and candles in front of the embassy building in honour of the 17 people killed in the attacks.
