Paris - Crowds began gathering for a massive and historic march in Paris on Sunday in solidarity with the victims of the Islamist attacks that killed 17 and deeply shook the country.

Hundreds were gathering already three hours before the march at Place de la Republique for a rally expected to unite more than a million people and dozens of world leaders.

French security forces were deploying in large numbers for the march with the country still on edge over the Islamist attacks.
