DOHA: Miomir Kecmanović took part in a meet and greet with children from the Qatar ExxonMobil community and their families during the Qatar ExxonMobil Open 2020.
The event was held at the ExxonMobil stand located in the tournament’s Public Village at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex.
Qatar Tennis Federation (QTF) and ExxonMobil Qatar organize these meet and greet events during the tournament to help grow youth tennis in the community, and develop an interest in physical activities. The sessions also provide young players with an opportunity to spend time with tennis stars and ask them questions.
The children also enjoyed the activities taking place at the stand. They had an incredible time trying out the Motion Sphere motorcycle racing challenge, had videos taken of them in slow motion, and participated in a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) quiz.
“Our children really look forward to the activities with players that Qatar Tennis Federation and ExxonMobil Qatar organize for them every year,” said Scott Miller, a parent from the ExxonMobil Qatar community.
“They get to meet tennis stars, listen to what they have to say about playing professional tennis – it’s an engaging and inspiring session, and we’re grateful for the opportunity,” he added.
Through a variety of partnerships with local organisations such as QTF, ExxonMobil Qatar invests in programs that support education, professional workforce development, and active and healthy lifestyles within Qatar’s community. These programs support efforts to create a healthy, productive and motivated workforce that will sustain Qatar’s future, in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030.
