Doha: Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB) yesterday marked National Sport Day with activities at Four Seasons Hotel beach.
QIB Group CEO Bassel Gamal led bank employees and their families in the celebration.
The event echoed QIB’s commitment to the objectives in Qatar National Vision 2030, reiterating the importance of sports and healthy nutritions as pillars of health for citizens and residents.
Many teams were formed to take part in competitions and races, including football, tennis, ball juggling, aerobics, beach hand ball and a contest to select QIB’s strongest employee.
Participants also enjoyed snacks and learned about healthy food.
Some 46 employees took part in a marathon race organised by Qatar Central Bank, reflecting QIB’s cooperation with other community activities.
Gamal said, “QIB’s participation is a manifestation of our commitment to meet Qatar’s vision and objectives of these events which support values and good practices.
“The leadership’s attention to sports is manifested in Qatar winning the silver medal in handball that reflects the importance sports are getting here together with world-class tournaments held in the country. We hope the celebration will inspire our staff to participate in sports and healthy activities throughout the year.”The Peninsula
