Short Film by expats wins accolade at festival

Doha: Mirage, a fictional short film, by a team of Indian expats in Qatar was recently awarded the Best Indian Diaspora Film at the World Malayalam Short Film Festival held in Kerala, India.

Directed by Hisham Madayi, a short film director in Qatar, the movie was screened to a select audience in Qatar recently and now is available on Youtube. Madayi is a well-known short film director among the community in Qatar who has till now received two best short film awards from Doha Film Institute among many others.

The movie deals with the life of four labourers who make an accidental discovery at their worksite. The events that follow forms the crux of the movie. A dark action thriller set in the backdrop of a desert, the movie deals with friendship, jealousy and greed. 

Phayas Abdulrahman, Rameez Asees, Saheer Abdulla, Shaan Riyas, Manoj Mundappat, Faizal Pulikkal play the key role while the movie is produced by Sunil Hassan and Nizam Ahmed.
