Riyadh, Saudi Arabia: The General Authority of Customs participated in the 16th meeting of the Customs Union Authority of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, held in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was chaired by H.E. Mr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Jamal, Chairman of the General Authority of Customs and President of the Executive Council of the Customs Union Authority, with the participation of a number of senior officials from customs authorities and administrations across the GCC States.

The meeting discussed several topics related to the development of joint GCC customs work, including follow-up projects associated with completing the requirements for establishing the Customs Union, and reviewing the latest developments concerning the Unified Customs Law of the GCC States, in addition to examining reports and minutes of the relevant committees and technical working groups.

The meeting also addressed progress in implementing the Executive Council’s decisions and discussed several technical items on the agenda, thereby enhancing coordination and unifying customs procedures among GCC States.

These periodic meetings underscore the pivotal role of the Customs Union Authority in advancing Gulf integration, strengthening cooperation among GCC customs administrations, and developing joint working mechanisms, thereby facilitating intra-GCC trade and enhancing unified customs performance.
