Doha: The 7th World Cargo Symposium organised by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) is to be held under the patronage of Minister of Economy and Finance H E Yousef Hussain Kamal.
Final preparations are under way to welcome more than 1,000 delegates to one of the world’s largest meeting of air freight executives and stakeholders taking place this week.
The event to be held from Tuesday to Thursday, will focus on the role of the Middle East in the global air cargo industry and address the challenges and opportunities the industry face.
Qatar Airways is the conference host, while its freight subsidiary Qatar Airways Cargo is the main sponsor. Local sponsors include International Bank of Qatar (IBQ), Ooredoo (formerly Qtel) and Alfardan Automobiles.
The Minister will give an address on the opening day. IATA Director General Tony Tyler and Qatar Airways CEO Akbar Al Baker will give speeches.
