DOHA: The weather could be windy and partly cloudy today, with chances of scattered rains in some places in the country, the weather bureau said yesterday. “Though you may see the sun shine after early afternoon,” a forecaster said.

Doha witnessed light rains last evening, but the showers were moderate on the eastern coast and in the north. These areas could witness rains today as well.

The maximum temperature has been forecast at 28 degrees Celsius, while the minimum would be 21 degrees. Since the wind direction would be north-westerly initially, it could bring moderate chill.

In some places the wind, with speeds ranging from 10 to 27 knots, could throw up light to heavy dust. Offshore, the wind speed has been forecast at between 25 and 35 knots. There will be high tides as well. Temperatures might vary between 21 and 28 degrees Celsius until Wednesday, while from Thursday it would be a bit hotter with the mercury soaring up, to 32 to 33 degrees Celsius, the forecaster said.
