Doha: Doha International Family Institute (DIFI) in collaboration with Qatar Photographic Society has launched the ‘Your Family, Your Lens’ photography competition.
Being held in celebration of the 20th anniversary of International Year of the Family, the competition aims to focus on the critical role of family in community development, examine challenges faced by families and highlight the contribution they make to the progress of society.
With cash prizes over QR30,000 up for grabs, the contest is open to the public.
Entrants are encouraged to join the anniversary celebrations.
The best adjudged photographs will be showcased during the Doha Conference 2014 on April 16-17 at Qatar National Convention Centre.
In line with DIFI’s main objective of focusing on the pivotal role of families, the organising committee believes that photographs can successfully capture this meaningful message by reflecting personal thoughts and aspirations, while painting an expressive picture of families.
Participants should ensure that the pictures submitted are of the highest quality and shed light on their unique artistic vision.
The winning images and the best photographic entries will be displayed in the exhibition area during the conference.
The top four winners will receive QR10,000, QR7,000, QR5,000 and QR4,000, respectively.
Winners who rank from fifth place up to 15th will each be awarded QR1,000.
The deadline for entries is March 31. Submissions should be made to the society’s headquarters at Katara Cultural Village, building No. 18.
