DOHA: Qatar Foundation (QF) for Education, Science, and Community Development and Cerner Middle East (CME) successfully delivered an ambulatory Electronic Health Record (EHR).
Qatar Foundation Primary Health Care Center is the first health care organization in Qatar to successfully install Cerner Millennium.
CME provides health care information technology (HIT) solutions, the QF said Tuesday.
QF Health, Safety, Security and Environment Executive Director Sheikha Amal Al Thani said, "The new EHR system is approximately 80 percent paperless work, accurate medication list, immediately available charts and smooth registration of patient data.
"We are pleased with the support Cerner has provided us to deliver this successful implementation that meets our vision to be a world-class patient-centered and integrated primary health care centre in Qatar."
Cerner solutions have automated physician and nursing workflows, along with laboratory, dental and administrative services.
Clinicians at Qatar Foundation Primary Health Care Center are able to document care and place medication and other orders directly in the EMR.
Cerner Middle East and Africa Vice President and Managing Director Michael Pomerance said, "This project demonstrates the shared vision of QF and Cerner to build a better future with health care that integrates data from all the health sources on one platform and lays the foundation for population health and wellness management in Qatar."
