KANDAHAR: A local police chief and two bodyguards were killed by a roadside bomb in southern Afghanistan, an official said Thursday.
Qiyamuddin, the police chief of Choray district in Uruzgan province, was on his way to a nearby checkpoint to pay the monthly salaries of the policemen when the bomb struck his car late Wednesday, the province's police spokesman Farid Ayel said.
Ayel said all three died on the spot and the vehicle was destroyed. (QNA)
