PESHAWAR: Office-bearers of former prime minister Pakistan Muslim League-N’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Women’s Wing chapter has asked party leadership to review the lists of party’s nominees for the women reserved seats to end growing resentment among workers.
Sources in the party said here Tuesday that nomination for women reserved seats in the National Assembly and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly had created unrest among the candidates whose names were placed at the top in the earlier list but were changed before submitting it to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
They said supporters of PML-N Provincial President Sabir Shah were replaced by those of Amir Muqam although three were recommended by former chief minister Mehtab Ahmed.
Senior PML-N leaders Shahnaz Daulat, Divisional President Rahila Suhail, Peshawar district President Salima Ikram, Najma Nausherwan and Nasreen Khattak reposed confidence in parliamentary boards, central and provincial leaders, but wondered how the previous lists were changed. Internews
