Missile launch successful

Pakistan’s Hatf IV Shaheen-1 missile, an intermediate-range ballistic missile capable of delivering a nuclear warhead, taking off during a test-firing from an undisclosed location, yesterday. 

Islamabad: Pakistan yesterday conducted a successful launch of the Intermediate Range Ballistic Missile (IRBM) Hatf IV Shaheen-1 Weapon System, said a handout issued by the Inter Services Public Relation.

The missile incorporates series of improvements in range and technical parameters of the existing missile. It is capable of carrying nuclear and conventional warheads to a range of 900km, according to Pakistan’s Geo News.

The launch, whose impact point was at sea, was witnessed by Director General Strategic Plans Division Lieutenant General (Retired) Khalid Ahmed Kidwai, other senior military officers, scientists and engineers.

Kidwai congratulated all scientists and engineers on the successful launch.
