Lulu Group Chairman escapes unhurt in helicopter accident

Doha: Leading NRI businessman and Lulu Group chairman Yusuff Ali MA, his wife and five others escaped unhurt as the helicopter they were travelling in was forced to make an emergency landing in a marshy area in the outskirts of Kochi, India.

As per Indian media reports, all of them are safe and admitted to a private hospital and is currently under observation.

“Yusuff Ali MA, currently in Kerala, was on a short trip from his home in Kochi to visit a relative at nearby hospital. Due to the sudden deterioration of the weather conditions and heavy rains, the experienced pilots decided to make precautionary landing at a safe place to prevent any risk to the life of the passengers or the public at large. All passengers and crew underwent necessary medical checkup and are safe,” a statement from V Nandakumar, Director of Communications Lulu Group, said.

The helicopter owned by the Lulu group was forced to make landing in the marshy area near a highway and local media reports said there were strong wind and rain at the time of the incident.
