Kabul: Thirty-seven Taliban insurgents were killed, 13 others wounded and 10 arrested in joint operations carried out by Afghan forces and the International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) during the last 24 hours in different parts of Afghanistan.
The Interior Ministry said in a statement today that the operations were carried out in the provinces of Kunduz, Ghazni, Paktika, Helmand, Farah, Herat and Kandahar adding that a quantity of heavy and light weapons were seized during the operation.
The ministry did not refer in its statement to any casualties in the ranks of the security forces.
Gunmen kill three in Karachi
Islamabad: Three people lost their lives in different violent incidents across the metropolis on the weekend, Geo News reported yesterday.
According to police, a man was killed when unidentified gunmen opened fire in Gulistan-e-Jauhar block 17 area of Karachi yesterday. Moreover, two tortured bodies were also found in Quaidabad area, rescue sources said, adding that one body was found dumped near a Radio Station while another near Gulshan City.
One of the victims had bullet wounds while the other was tortured to death.
