DOHA: Only female employees will be able to work with nurseries as per a draft law on regulating nurseries that was approved by the Advisory Council yesterday.
Fifteen conditions have also been set for the employment of staff at nurseries.
According to the draft law, licences for nurseries will be issued within 30 days for one year.
They will be renewed for another one year or more depending on the performance of the nursery. The proposed law includes 25 articles and six chapters. It also specifies conditions for obtaining licences and its procedures.
The proposed law also includes articles on how to monitor nurseries and suggests punishments for those violating it.
The Advisory Council approved the draft law during its regular session. The Advisory Council has also approved a draft law for taxation on the income of hotels and tourism restaurants.
The proposed law imposes 10 percent tax on the income of hotels and tourism restaurants and suggests spending five percent of tax in grant allowances to the employees of hotels and training Qatari youth to work with hotels.
