DOHA: Qatar Railways Company (Qatar Rail) has recruited the first batch of Qatari fresh graduates. The number of Qataris in the company now reached 32 percent of the total staff.
Young Qataris were recruited according to the partnership with the Ministry of Labour and as a result of the effective participation at the Qatar Career Fair.
“We at Qatar Rail believe that rewarding careers empower Qatari youth to take charge of their own future and enable them to make informed choices and decisions about their prospects in the Qatari workforce. We look forward to welcoming our next intake of future Rail leaders to Qatar Rail, and to continue our commitment to working hand-in-hand with the Ministry of Labour towards achieving the objectives of the country’s strategic vision”, said Executive Director of Administration of Qatar Rail, Eng. Meshal Abdulla Al Obeidan.
The new recruits went through a five-day orientation programme before joining the company. The orientation programme was tailor-made to provide these fresh graduates with a comprehensive information and knowledge about all the aspects of work flow at Qatar Rail.
This included a presentation and interaction with different key departments at Qatar Rail, a site visit to Lusail site and finally presenting them the latest informative Qatar Rail documentary. The new Qatari nationals joined Qatar Rail at the Architecture Department,Mechanical Engineering, Network Engineering, System Administration and Communications Engineering.The Peninsula
