Doha: Qatar National Human Rights Committee (QNHRC) signed a cooperation agreement with the American Center for International Labor Solidarity in Los Angeles yesterday.
It was inked by the QNHRC Chairman, Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, and the centre’s Executive Director Huana Bader Palo.
The signing ceremony was held on the sidelines of the General Conference of the American Federation of International Labor Solidarity Association, in which QNHRC is participating with a delegation headed by Dr Al Marri. The conference ends today.
As part of the agreement, both sides will work with judicial authorities to prevent human trafficking in the country of origin and the host country and establish dialogue with the countries concerned through official visits.
The agreement stresses the need to act to improve the conditions of workers and building their capacities by providing training and educational programmes to be held at the level of ministries and relevant institutions, and the parties concerned will work to educate workers, employers and managers of labour organizations.
