Doha: The Public Relations Department of the Ministry of Interior yesterday said it will organise ‘Communities Eid Al Adha 2016 Celebrations’ on the first and second days of the Eid. The celebrations on the first day of Eid will be at the Wakra Sports Club and on the second day will be at the Asian Town in the Industrial Area and Barwa Workers Sports Complex in Al Khor from 5 pm - 10 pm.
Bands of Indian, Nepalese, Sri Lankan, Bangladeshi and Indonesian communities will be performing in the mega community event on the open stage near the cricket stadium at Asian Town in Doha Industrial Area.
From the Indian community, the Skills Development Center Music club and ‘Trends Qatar’, a socio-cultural team, will be showcasing multi-language songs on the first day of Eid. On the second day, songs will be presented by various members of Trends Qatar band and the prominent Indian traditional show ‘Banghra’ dance will be another attraction of Indian community performance in Asian Town.
The Bangladeshi community musical troupes Otopar, Chironton baul and Srabon, along with well-known community singer Ms. Sinthia, will be joining the event by presenting songs and Bengali comedy shows.
The Nepalese community teams will be enthralling thousands of audience in Asian Town -- by the folklore and traditional shows headed by Tek Raj Thapa, Tamu (Gurung) Samaj Qatar, Shiva Ram Dhakal, Ms. Rabina Pokharel, Iman Singh Thakuri, Kamala Gurung, Biru Arthak Sunar, Shiva Ram Dhakal, Susma Pun Magar on behalf of Non-Resident Nepalese Association (NRNA) Qatar on both days of Eid.
On the banner of Permiqa, the Indonesian community organization in Qatar, the Indonesian community teams will showcase three prominent Indonesian traditional dances such as Sajojo dance, Tortor dance, Cinta.
Indonesia Dance and two Arabic songs and a performance by X3 band group on the first day of Eid in Asian Town are being planned, while the Sri Lankan Coordination Committee (SLCC) will be taking part in both days by presenting Sinhalese, Tamil and Hindi songs.
Well-known Pakistani singers Waheed Achakzahi and Nadiya Gul, multi-lingual singer Rizwana and Peshawari singer Mariyah Khan will be leading the cultural programme in Al Wakra Sports Club on the first day of Eid. On the second day of Eid, the same Pakistani singers will perform in Asian Town communities from 9 pm.
The two days of ‘Al Khor Communities Eid Celebrations’ from 5pm at Barwa Workers Recreation Complex in Al Khor Industrial Area is organized by Barwa group in collaboration with MoI and will showcase Indian, Bangladeshi and Nepalese communities performances and musical concerts on the first day and second days of Eid.
Workers talent show, where interested workers will be given chance to sing and dance on the stage, and workers skills development entertainment games from 4 pm are another attraction of the event in Al Khor.
The ministry explained that entry to the programme is completely free and the audience will be getting prizes through raffle draws. There will be separate areas for families in each venue.
