Doha, Qatar: The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will present ‘Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1’, which is expected to take place on September 14, 2026 at 7.30pm at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC), Auditorium 3, offering audiences an evening of dramatic expression, virtuosity, and some of the most beloved music of the Romantic repertoire.
Under the baton of renowned conductor Enrique Diemecke, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra will be joined by acclaimed pianist Jae Hong Park, winner of the 2021 Busoni International Piano Competition, for a performance of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s iconic Piano Concerto No. 1 in B-Flat Minor, Op. 23. Widely regarded as one of the most celebrated works in the piano repertoire, the concerto captivates audiences with its instantly recognisable opening theme and breathtaking technical brilliance.
Following the intermission, the orchestra will perform Tchaikovsky’s Manfred, Op. 58, a monumental symphonic work inspired by Lord Byron’s dramatic tale of a tormented wanderer. Rich in emotion and orchestral color, the piece stands as one of the composer’s most powerful and cinematic creations.
